Kristine Mahoney, Director - This is Kristine’s second year with Beth Shalom. Last year, served as teacher in the Katan class - Has taught Kindergarten and Mad Science - Has been a camp counselor at Camp Mindy - Currently provides services to children with language disabilities - Holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and is certified to teach K-6 - Presently persuing her masters in K-12 Reading Education
Kara Tanenbaum, Hebrew Teacher - Brings ten years of professional experience - Senior Counselor of Camp Ramah - Religious School Teacher in Atlanta - Youth Director - B’nai Mitzvah Tutor - Currently serves on BSLKN board as Ritual Chair
Suzie Feldberg, Katan Teacher - Originally from Roanoke, Virginia where she grew up with a strong Jewish background through Beth Israel Synagogue, despite the small Jewish community - Currently a senior at UNCC majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in English - Plans to teach in the CMS system after graduation (currently a student teacher) - Attended Jewish summer camps, BBYO programs, Sunday school &Hebrew school - Worked for Beth Israel for 8 summers at Chai Time summer camp - Was teacher's aide for 4 years at the Sunday School - While in Charlotte, has been a nanny for the past two summers - Teaching philosophy is to always promote a positive learning environment, spark a love for lifelong learning, and learn along with the students- they can teach you as much as you can teach them!
Rose Sacolick, Gan/Alef/Bet Judaica Teacher
- Fourth year teacher at BSLKN Center for Jewish Learning - Began her Hebrew and Jewish education in elementary school and attended High School in Israel - Earned her college degree in Information Management and Science and worked in software development and database administration - Privately tutored children from Pre-K to high school in all subjects - Has been a substitute teacher for all grades and subjects in public school for six years - Taught in public after-school programs - Has two sons and four grandchildren who live in New York where she and her husband lived before relocating to Cornelius
Roxanna Sosa, Judaica Gan, Alef, Bet Teacher
- Originally from Argentina - Moved here from Miami, Florida - Has been working with children for four years - Has three children of her own
